Joanna Dees

Joanna Dees joined the NGLCC in May 2008 as the first Supplier Diversity Initiative Fellow. In March of 2009 was promoted from Supplier Diversity Fellow to Supplier Specialist Manager. While Jo acts as a supplier diversity specialist for the NGLCC, she is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Sociology at American University.
Prior to joining the NGLCC, Jo was Interim Director with the Noisette Foundation from 2005-2007, working with AmeriCorps VISTA on an ex-offender reentry initiative. Making strides within her position, Jo supervised a full-time staff, established and directed a service-learning pilot program for state inmates called Lowcountry Civic Justice Corps, and impressively coached 29 ex-offenders into successful long-term employment. Jo has additional experience as a researcher at DC VOICE and represented American University at the 2008 CoRAL Network Conference panel.
Jo is originally from Virginia and received her BA in Sociology and Psychology at the College of William & Mary in 2005.
