Matthew Thackston
Executive Team Assistant
Matthew joined the NGLCC in March 2009 as the Executive Team Assistant. Matthew had previously worked on a Congressional Campaign as the Volunteer Coordinator during the 2008 election cycle and was responsible for volunteer operations such as phone banks, yard signs and mailings. Prior to this, Matthew worked in customer service.
Prior to moving to Washington in February of 2009, Matthew lived outside of Syracuse, NY, where he was born and raised. He attended Liverpool High School where he graduated in the top 10% of his graduating class. He went on to attend college at the State University of New York College at Geneseo, where he earned a Bachelor's in Political Science.
During his time in College, Matthew became involved with student organizations such as the Inter-Residence Council, a standing committee of the Student Association, where he served as Campus Relations Coordinator and National Communications Coordinator. He was also inducted into the National Residence Hall Honorary and was named the local member of the year. He also acted as Transporation and Dining Chairs for the 2008 Mini-No-Frills Conference hosted by Geneseo.
