The New Normal: Financial Challenges of Today's Modern Family

Four out of five households no longer fit the mom, dad, and 2.2 kids mold. As a result of shifts in American demographics, the vast majority of today’s families are considered nontraditional by standard definitions. Today’s families come in many forms: singles, blended families, same-sex couples, and multigenerational households, to name only a few. Because of their unique complexities, these families may have to cope with more challenges than traditional ones when it comes to their financial lives.
