1. What is Think Transition Inc.

We help businesses create inclusive work environments for transgender and gender non-conforming employees while avoiding lawsuits and bad press.

2. What is unique about your business? What need is your business attempting to address?

Think Transition Inc has a step-by-step online training program that teaches organizations how to create inclusive environments for transgender and gender non-conforming employees. Most diversity training is done as a workshop, but we wanted to make it easier for our clients to learn at their own pace and be able to have continuous access to the training in the future.

People in the transgender community often encounter difficulty finding employment due to policies that are not inclusive, and we assist companies in creating more inclusive workplace policies.

3. What were you doing before you founded your business?

I am a financial analyst and I still consult within the finance sector in addition to running Think Transition Inc.

4. What are your goals for your business?

To help businesses create economic development opportunities for transgender and gender non-conforming people. Currently, the transgender community faces many barriers to entering the workforce without encountering discrimination. Think Transition wants to help remove those barriers for companies of all sizes.

5. How has being a member of the trans community and an NGLCC certified LGBTBE impacted your business, if at all?

Since becoming certified last year, I have been able to network with other members of the NGLCC, including NGLCC's other LGBTBEs and corporate partners, which has been helpful to increase my network.

This blog post is part of a series celebrating Transgender Awareness Week (November 13-17, 2017) by highlighting the contributions of trans business owners. Interested in having your LGBTBE in the spotlight? Email [email protected].
