Meet the 2018 Corporation of the Year: Bank of America

| By James Gleason

NGLCC is fortunate to have the support of over 200 corporate partners, each dedicated to growing the LGBT business community and increasing opportunities for LGBTBE suppliers. Bank of America is one of the best-in-class among our corporate partners and as a longtime partner, sets the standard for continued support of NGLCC and the LGBT business community.

Bank of America’s support for the LGBT business community has both breadth and depth. For over a decade, Bank of America has been the sole Presenting Sponsor for the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC) Best-of-the-Best Awards and its previous iteration, the Financial Services Diversity Leadership Awards at the New York Stock Exchange.

Additionally, Bank of America is one of a select number of Best-of-the-Best corporations and a contributing member of the Billion Dollar Roundtable, which sources a billion dollars or more in business from diverse-owned businesses. Bank of America has also received a 100% rating on the HRC Corporate Equality Index and is an active participant in NGLCC’s matchmaking activities to provide more business opportunities to LGBTBEs. In addition to its support of NGLCC on a national level, Bank of America is also a partner of eight local chambers and regularly supports their programming.

Bank of America’s support extends past the LGBT business community and into the LGBT community at large. It’s LGBT+ Pride Employee Network is almost 10 years old and currently has over 10,000 members across 30+ chapters, providing a safe space for many Bank of America employees. Since 2011, Bank of America has also supported The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBT young people ages 13 to 24.

NGLCC would like to congratulate Bank of America for their extraordinary work and a well-deserved designation as the NGLCC 2018 Corporation of the Year!
