Could Trust Cost You a Generation of Talent?
The EY Global generations study is the third EY has undertaken on generational issues in the workplace. For this research our objective was to understand the factors influencing trust, and a lack of trust, in the workplace. EY surveyed more than 9,800 adults aged 19 to 68 who are employed full-time across a variety of companies in Brazil, China, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, the UK and the US. EY also surveyed more than 3,200 teenagers — Generation Z, aged 16 to 18 — to understand how these soon to be professionals perceptions of trust might influence their future employment decisions. During this session, we’ll dive into the data, discuss what helps build trust, what happens when trust is lost and discuss what people around the globe really want in a job. Our panel will share practical advice on how to modernize the workplace and your own leadership, with an eye toward staying ahead in an increasingly competitive global economy, as well as how to communicate across the generation divide to build a high level of trust.
