Inclusiveness Director of the Americas Talent Team, EY
As an Inclusive Director on the Americas Talent Team at Ernst & Young (EY) and member of the Americas Inclusiveness Center of Excellence, Chris focuses on integrating diversity and inclusiveness into everyday business processes and connecting EY professionals to each other and the marketplace through EY's professional networks and sponsored conferences. As the LGBTA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Ally) Inclusiveness Strategy Leader, she plays an integral role in defining EY’s leadership in LGBTA inclusiveness and workplace practices, originating in the US and now leading around the globe.
Her tenure at EY began in 1988 in the tax practice with a transition into human resources. Asking questions on how to improve EY’s diversity and inclusiveness efforts, Chris co-founded Unity, EY’s LGBTA professional network. The success of Unity led to over a decade of working with the LGBTQ community to attract, inspire, develop and retain LGBTQ talent at EY. In this role, she has led efforts to advance equitable benefits and policies that welcome and include people in the discussions that make them successful. She has led EY efforts to support equitable workplace practices, often joining with other global leaders and businesses to advocate for and collaborate on better workplace solutions while also joining business coalitions such as the amicus briefs leading to marriage equality. She is a frequent speaker on LGBTA issues and has been featured in a variety of media including Fortune, Forbes.com, NPR and The Glass Closet.
In addition to joining the Board of the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Chris is involved in a number of organizations supported through EY including GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Student Education Network), HRC (Human Rights Campaign), OPEN for Business, Out Leadership, Out & Equal Workplace Advocates, Out for Undergraduate Business Conference, Point Foundation and Reaching Out MBA.
Chris's efforts have been recognized by being awarded the inaugural Americas Chairman's Values Award at EY and the Trailblazer Award by Out & Equal Workplace Advocates.
Residing in Western Pennsylvania with her 17-year old triplets and partner of more than 30 years, she enjoys her kids’ sporting and robotic team activities, gardening and fixing up their 120-year-old farmhouse. Chris can be contacted at [email protected] or 412.644.5361.
It is with these impressive credentials and her spirit of collaboration, that the NGLCC warmly welcomes Chris's expertise and wisdom as it continues the conversation of diversity and inclusion within the business sector.
