NGLCC’s 2013 Roll the Dice Competition

Business can hinge on one calculated gamble, but are you ready to take the risk?

For the third year, NGLCC will host Roll the Dice, a competition exclusively for Certified LGBTBE® suppliers to take the stage at the 2013 NGLCC National Business & Leadership Conference and pitch their company, product, or innovation that deserves investment.

Based on the ABC hit show, Shark Tank, which features last year’s conference keynote speaker Barbara Corcoran, Roll the Dice will allow three finalist companies to give their best 15-minute presentation to a panel of angel investors, venture capitalists and expert entrepreneurs.

Roll the Dice will also allow participants to gain valuable feedback from the panel and continue their dialogue after the competition. One winner will be awarded a $10,000 cash prize from the stage!

“Winning last year’s competition was the highlight of my year. Not only did I take the cash prize home, but I also found a new investor among the audience, received a ton of coverage from the media, and I am exploring distribution deals with several of the corporations at the conference,” said Joe Cote, inventor and CEO of CapsulePen

New this year, StartOut will be a partner in presenting and sponsoring Roll the Dice. Stay tuned for more information on judges!

  • Applications for the competition are due to NGLCC by July 8.
  • NGLCC and our Roll the Dice partners will then notify five semi-finalists by Friday, July 12.

  • Finalists will be notified by July 23 and will compete during the conference closing plenary on Friday, August 2.
