NGLCC, Business Inclusion Consortium to Ring NYSE Closing Bell

 

 
Diversity Organizations Honor Best Practices in Financial Industry
Washington, DC (01/11/13) – The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) will be joined by leaders from several business diversity organizations to ring the closing bell on the New York Stock Exchange this afternoon. 
 
Spearheaded by NGLCC, the National Business Inclusion Consortium will ring the bell as a precursor to Financial Services Diversity Leadership Awards taking place at the NYSE on Monday, January 14. The National Business Inclusion Consortium represents diverse communities that total more than $8 trillion in annual consumer spending power. In addition to NGLCC, organizations in the consortium include

  • National Black Justice Coalition
  • U.S. Business Leadership Network: Disability at Work
  • U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce
  • Women’s Business Enterprise National Council
 
“Our partnership with sister organizations in NBIC not only highlights the estimated 1.4 million LGBT business owners, many of whom are also people of color, women, and people with disabilities, but also brings together the broader diversity community in our common, ongoing mission to improve business inclusion among Fortune 500 corporations,” said Justin Nelson, NGLCC Co-Founder and President.
