Edward Hamner, Founder of Howling Print and Promo Inc., has made it his mission to provide “Custom Branding that Leads the Pack.” Hamner started his business in April of 2018 and became certified with the International National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) in 2019. In this time, he has learned a lot about the process of being a business owner, and the benefits of being certified with NGLCC.

Howling Print and Promo is a full service brokered print and promotional products company based in Chardon, Ohio. The company works with small and large companies to provide custom branded solutions and brand management solutions to boost businesses. They specialize in apparel, business cards, postcards, signage, and so much more.

Before owner Howling Print and Promo Inc., Hamner worked in the same industry, and has co-owned similar businesses. But, there are many factors that make Hamner’s printing and branding company unique from others.

“We go beyond just peddling product,” Hamner said. “ It is the company goal to get to know our clients and help them further a need. In addition, we offer complete brand management that takes the day to day worry of marketing needs of employees and management and lets them put their attention to other more important tasks.”

Before Howling Print and Promo was certified with the NGLCC, Hamner joined the Plexus chamber in Ohio. He described it as his greatest business accomplishment and decision. “This membership has benefited the company in more than we can ever imagine!” he said.

The Plexus chamber connected him with the NGLCC later on, and his business has grown greatly since being certified in June.

“Since becoming Certified through the NGLCC, we have seen new opportunities arise from other LGBT owned businesses and NGLCC corporate partners. Through the various supplier diversity channels that have been introduced to us, we have seen opportunities for new business increase exponentially,” Hamner said.

Hamner is excited for the future, and has many goals in mind. By next year, he wants to locate a new warehouse and office facility to increase the Brand management program. In five to ten years from now, he wants to be able to bring on additional workers.

When asked if Hamner had any advice, he urges LGBT business owners to be an active member of NGLCC local affiliate chambers.

“Connect with your local LGBT chamber of commerce sooner than later. The networking opportunities are beyond amazing and there is a level of comfort in working with your peers,” he said.
