The NGLCC International Programs Department has a new and expanded mandate to expand Certified LGBT Business Enterprises® reach to the 95 percent of the world’s consumers living outside the United States. The NGLCC Trade Mission and Summit of the Americas to Mexico City from March 11 to March 14, 2014 is intended to dramatically increase the visibility and capacity of LGBT-owned businesses throughout Central and South America.
The trade mission promises to bring together local LGBT community leaders and businesses, multinational corporations, and U.S.-based Certified LGBTBE® companies looking to export through a robust series of seminars, networking events, and matchmaker meetings. Delegates will also be invited to participate in the second LGBT Summit of the Americas.
Download the application and register to participate! Applications will be taken on a rolling basis until the delegation is full.
In part due to the 1994 implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement, Mexico is currently the second largest consumer of U.S. goods. Currently ranked 13th globally, the growing Mexican economy is poised for even greater developments with this year’s launch of the U.S.-Mexico High Level Economic Dialogue. The U.S. government’s renewed focus on Mexico is sure to provide further opportunities for both US-based corporations as well as small businesses. The NGLCC looks forward to guiding Certified LGBTBE® companies to enter or expand their reach in this market via our upcoming Trade Mission to Mexico.
Throughout the week of March 11-14, delegates will be able to take advantage of myriad resources, including a high-level cultural and economic briefing from the U.S. embassy, as well as the reputable Gold Key Matching Services provided by the U.S. Commercial Service, which also includes prescheduled matchmaker meetings with vetted end-users and potential partners.

The trade mission will also offer a full day of interactive seminars and educational sessions for trade mission delegates, along with LGBT and allied Mexican businesses, on how to grow your company and take advantage of the thriving tourism sector throughout Mexico. Finally, delegates will be able to participate in the LGBT Summit of the Americas which will bring together international LGBT affiliate chamber leaders, including staff and board members, to discuss LGBT business imperatives. Registration for the LGBT Summit of the Americas is complimentary for trade mission delegates.
To culminate a successful week of activities, partnerships and business, delegates will experience a tour of Teotihuacan, a multi-ethnic city of pyramids, built in 100 BC and inhabited as late as 8th century AD.
