NGLCC Signs Historic Marriage Equality Amicus Brief
| By Andy DiAntonio
On March 5, a friend-of-the-court brief was filed urging the Supreme Court to support marriage equality. NGLCC is proud to once again join over 300 other businesses and local chambers in arguing for the economic benefits for marriage equality. The brief contends that, "the burden imposed by inconsistent and discriminatory state laws of having to administer complicated schemes to account for differential treatment of similarly situated employers breeds unnecessary confusion, tension, and diminished employer morale."
The brief followed the announcement that the Supreme Court will take up the case for marriage equality on April 28. The NGLCC would like to thank all of our corporate partners, affiliate chambers and certified LGBTBEs who continue to show enduring commitment to the LGBT community.
