1. Please give a short description of your business.
Stanton Ventures makes your data work for you. We provide data-related services including tracking implementation, building and maintaining data warehouses along with reporting, data visualization, monitoring, and alerting services.
2. What is unique about your business?
Stanton Ventures is unique because it offers a breadth of technical and business services in one company. Normally you can find business-centered data resources or technical-centered data resources, but to find them both in the same place is very useful. Besides saving on communication, it means we can create solutions that are more appropriate and tailored to your business than some of our competitors.
I’m also a woman-owned technology business, which helps me stand out.
3. How has being bisexual impacted your business, if at all?
I honestly don’t feel that being bisexual has significantly impacted my business. I would encourage bisexual entrepreneurs to make sure they have other competitive advantages besides being an LGBTBE or other certification based on who the business owner(s) is/are.
4. What advice would you give to a bisexual person starting a business?
I would also encourage them to get to know their local NGLCC chamber. Additionally, I would encourage them to think about how open they want to be about your bisexuality in the workplace. As opposed to lesbian or gay individuals, there’s still education to do about what bisexuality is and isn’t. For instance, I’m in a lesbian relationship right now, and I have to keep clarifying that I’m not a lesbian. The fight against bi-erasure is real and will be present in your workplace.
