TrendyMinds Cites Key NGLCC Experience as a Factor to Landing at the Top of Inc. Magazine 500 List

Certified LGBT Business Enterprise® TrendyMinds, an Indianapolis-based agency working globally that specializes in web, advertising, and public relations, has been named to Inc. Magazine’s annual list of the 500 fastest growing private companies, landing at number 247 on the list, with an astounding three-year revenue growth of 1,757 percent.

After being successful for more than 15 years, Trevor Yager, owner of TrendyMinds, describes the beginning of a “three-year ride” that started when he attended the 2010 State of the Union as a guest of NGLCC.

“It’s not something we expected, but I have always been grateful to NGLCC for putting us in front of the White House as a potential guest; we were just the right [Certified LGBTBE®] at the right time,” said Yager. “That moment represented being part of this powerful business movement, and it was so meaningful on a personal level. We’ve had the opportunities to turn that exposure into professional momentum.”

Today TrendyMinds counts the pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and health insurance powerhouse Wellpoint in their impressive catalogue of clients. As the 31st fastest-growing company in the Inc. Magazine’s list’s marketing and advertising category and the only Midwest marketing and advertising agency to make the Inc. 500 list, Yager knows that sustaining success will mean growing that exposure even further.

“Obviously for TrendyMinds, the NGLCC community is important for us, and we make a point to attend the conference and dinner each year,” said Yager. “More importantly, although we’ve found that LGBTBE certification is not the factor that gets us in that final door, we know certification elevates us in the eyes of our clients—our clients love it.”

TrendyMinds is poised to continue significant growth, especially in the realm of digital strategy and cross-channel marketing solutions. With a team of 32 professionals, TrendyMinds recently purchased a second property in the Cole-Noble neighborhood of downtown Indianapolis. Renovation is currently underway to build a state-of-the-art video production studio, complete with 16-foot cyclorama wall to aid in video production. The company recently renovated and relocated to the former Carpenters’ Union building on East Market Street, investing over $1 million in capital, aiding in the rehabilitation of the city’s near east side.

“Indianapolis is a tight-knit community, and we are proud to reinvest in our community” said Yager. “When do good work, word spreads. We continue to be part of the NGLCC community because we are always looking for opportunities to expand. The next stage of this pivotal growth is to expand outside state to ensure we have the resources to match our clients’ needs. ”
