TDOV is “a day where people could celebrate the lives of transgender people, while still acknowledging that due to discrimination, not every trans person can or wants to be visible” (GLAAD). A discussion of this bittersweet day brings our community together, allowing us the space to share our joys and pride while recognizing the sacrifices we make by coming out and remaining visible. Visibility means opportunities to connect, engage, and inspire. It also can feel threatening, and full of fear and loss. When we come together to share our experiences, we grow together. Participants will leave our discussion with feelings of strength, solidarity, progress, and pride.
