NGLCC Congratulates Tampa’s First LGBT Mayor-Elect, Jane Castor

The National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the business voice of the LGBT community, has issued a statement following the historic election of Jane Castor as the incoming Mayor of Tampa, Florida.  The statement is attributed to NGLCC Co-Founder & President Justin Nelson and Co-Founder and CEO Chance Mitchell:

The NGLCC and our partners are so pleased to see another historic moment of LGBT leadership with the election of Jane Castor as the first out Mayor of Tampa, Florida.  We are eager to celebrate her victory, and the climate of progress and inclusion that has made it possible, on the main stage when NGLCC brings the largest LGBT business event in the world — the 2019 NGLCC International Business and Leadership Conference — to Tampa Bay this August.  Together, in collaboration with our local affiliate chamber, the Tampa Bay Diversity Chamber of Commerce, we look forward to creating the best climate yet for LGBT business opportunity in the Tampa Bay region, and throughout the state of Florida.

At a time when visibility has never mattered more for the LGBT community, it’s no surprise that we are seeing leaders from across the community step up, throw their hat in the ring, and, in many more instances than ever before, win races.  As we see every day with our LGBT business owners at the NGLCC, strength of character, a commitment to a more inclusive country and economy, and a calling to be a role model for the next generation inspires them daily to prove that being out and being successful, in business or in public service, never need to be mutually exclusive again.

The 2019 NGLCC International Business & Leadership Conference will be in Tampa from August 13-16, 2019.  This globally recognized conference is the largest LGBT business event on the planet. The NGLCC Conference delivers innovative leadership programming as well as networking and engagement opportunities for more than 1,500 LGBT and allied business leaders. Attendees will exponentially grow their business opportunities through cutting-edge educational programs include inspiring keynote speakers, the annual B2B Boot Camp for Certified LGBT Business Enterprise® (Certified LGBTBE®) companies, a local chamber development track, Marketplace Expo, one-on-one Matchmaker meetings between suppliers and Fortune 500 companies, and much more.
