Washington, DC – The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the business voice of the LGBT community, is pleased to announce Steve Adkins as the South Chair of the Affiliate Chamber Council (ACC). Adkins is the President & CEO of the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, the local NGLCC affiliate in Miami, FL.
The NGLCC ACC facilitates communication, shares resources, and provides guidance for local LGBT chambers and business organizations across the nation to expand economic opportunities for NGLCC Certified LGBT Business Enterprise® (Certified LGBTBE® companies) and the greater LGBT business community. The 46 NGLCC affiliate chambers under the purview of the ACC are aligned regionally into West, Midwest, South, and Northeast working groups.
“The Miami-Dade local chamber has been a vital partner in NGLCC’s success for many years, including having been a past site for our International Business & Leadership Conference,” said NGLCC Co-Founder & President Justin Nelson. “As we celebrate NGLCC’s 15th Anniversary this year, I am excited to see how Steve’s leadership, passion and energy will continue to inspire our 13 chambers in the South and help lead NGLCC to another 15 years of LGBT business success.”

As the South Chair, Adkins will consult regularly with his regional peers and colleagues to amplify the national LGBT business policy and economic development priorities set by the NGLCC headquarters in Washington, DC. The NGLCC ACC also facilitates annual workshops and development sessions for senior leaders and board members of NGLCC’s affiliates. By working together via the ACC, represented chambers and partner organizations expand economic opportunities and the advancement of the LGBT business community at the local level.
