ICS: Your One-Stop-Shop for Technology Services

Curtis Davis, Founder of ICS

Certified LGBTBE®Information and Communications Services, LLC, or ICS, is no ordinary technology company. Not only does it provide a very wide variety of services, ranging from threat protection and management security solutions to life safety and protective services, but it’s also been in the making for a very long time.

In fact, founder and entrepreneur Curtis Davis founded ICS in 1984 as a senior in high school to serve as a one call, one source solution for his clients. ICS became a Certified LGBTBE® through NGLCC in December of 2016, having been approached by a current vendor to obtain certification so they could collaborate.

“Growing up in Eastern Ohio, I always knew I wanted to work for myself, from running a newspaper route, to managing an ice cream store, to doing business plans at 13 years of age,” said Davis. “I had the desire to be my own boss.”

Now, Davis is a member of the Southside Area Commission for the City of Columbus and is the Founder and President of the Diversity Chamber of Central Ohio. Under his leadership, ICS is not only fulfilling its commitment to its Certified LGBTBE® status by growing and providing new tech services to its customers, but also by giving back to the LGBT community at large.

“We challenge our team to engage with nonprofits to make a difference in the community,” said Davis. “The youth is our next generation of the LGBTQ community and we want to encourage, embrace, and help those who need that hand up or just simple engagement into the community as a whole.”

One of the groups that ICS supports is the Kaleidoscope Youth Center, located in Columbus, Ohio. ICS not only engages with special projects that the Center develops, but also provides them with broadband and phone technology services.

“Stay the course,” said Davis when asked what advice he would provide to a young LGBT entrepreneur. “You will have ups and downs, but stay focused and believe in yourself and your clients will believe in you!”
